CrazyTalk 8 Standard App Reviews

6 Customer Reviews:

My niece thought it looked really cool. She loves what she can do with it. But, it is driving the poor kid crazy. During her first 3 hours use, it has crashed about 50 times. She almost needs to save after every single change she makes. She is 9 and is not used to doing that. So, when she uses it for about 10 minutes and forgets to save, save, save and save. The crashes have started to drive her to rage fits. If it didn’t crash, it would get 5 stars.

I Love this application! I really enjoy being able to do 2 and 3D head animation which i then can take into Final Cut Pro as needed. The Lip sync is really awesome too! The best part is that they have great tutorials and customer support. Would recommend this along with Crazy Talk Animator!

For the introductorary bargain price (still $30) I foiund the app to be have great promise but the version seemed crippled in features and you’d never know from the description in the app store. I kept thinking I was doing something wrong, trying to edit a track and export. Finally I went to the website for the developer and only there did I discover a comparison between the fjll version and this one. Turns out you’d have to spend $200 for the full version. I downloaded a trial version (of the full version) from their site and that one seems very cool and full-featured. Of course, the output on the trial vesion is watermarked. Had I known about the limitations of this version, I probably wouldn’t have spend the money on it. The full product seems great and price-right for someone who might use it for business, but for the occasional user, I felt ripped off and would give a better review if I got a refund.

This is such a fun program to play around with and be creative. Getting started is really easy and there are guides throughout that show you what to do. I uploaded my daughter’s picture and had so much fun making it animated. There’s a huge library of animations to play around with. This is a really entertaining and fun app!

I agree with Formerly Famous’s review. I feel that the advertising and promotions do not really distinguish the differences among the various levels of CrazyTalk 8. I have spent hours watching their video tutorials and then trying to figure out how to mimic them in my standard edition, only to eventually find out that I am missing a feature. I also needed to buy a new computer to run CrazyTalk 8, and even then, I find it still sometimes freezes or crashes. Furthermore, support is not good. I gather they are supporting the program from a foreign country because their English is fair and they do not seem to fully address issues. Rather after waiting a day or two, they forward your problem to someone else or refer you to the users manual or tutorials. I waited days for them to get back to me about a freezing problem. They really should have realtime chat or phone support. I do enjoy the tutorials but feel that they should clearly designate which edition of CrazyTalk they are using in the tutorial. Too much instruction also seems centered around creating and animating 3D images rather than 2D images, which is what I am interested in at this point. With all that said, I think CrazyTalk 8 is a very interesting and remarkable program. For the price of the standard edition, you certainly get your money’s worth in functionality, just don’t get too excited and be prepared to accept your limitations.
